Dear Leaders of the Central Synod,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ who remains our Lord and Saviour even during these unprecedented times.
The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa heeded a call for Methodist people to take an active part in promoting justice and speaking against the rampant violence committed against women and children in our society. It is apparent that we are unable to achieve this noble objective as individuals, or even working in isolation, it thus requires collective and collaborative effort.
No human being deserves to be robbed of their dignity, denied freedom to harmonious living, and equality. In order to respond impactful, the Justice and service Desk of the Mission Unit has collaborated with all Synod organisations to combat the scourge of Gender Based Violence which continues to threaten the livelihood of women and children in our society.
The Central Synod Mission Unit- Justice & Service Desk will be launching a GBV programme guided by themes and other innovative ideas, prophetic engagements, faith based dialogue and storytelling.
The details of the launch are as follows:
• Date: 19 July 2020
• Time: 18h00
• Platform: Zoom (Participants will be provided with the details)
